Quilts today are being made for reasons beyond why our grandmothers made them. Quilts today can and do inspire art.
Inspired Quilts, presented by the Kansas City Museum, is a small exhibit showcasing five quilts and one site-specific art installation. These works inspire viewers to see beyond utilitarian virtues and discover the art and culture of each piece. Of the five quilts on view, three are from the Kansas City Museum’s collections and two are works on loan from local fabric and textile artists.

There is metered street parking on Broadway Blvd. from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday; free street parking on Broadway Blvd. after 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday; and free street parking on Broadway Blvd. all day on Saturday and Sunday. Please note that there is no street parking on Broadway Blvd. from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. There is free, two-hour street parking on Bank St. and Washington St.
