Llŷr Williams, piano

Presented by Friends of Chamber Music at The Folly Theater

Pianist Llŷr Williams has been celebrated as having the “precious ability to shed new light on the most familiar music” (The Guardian), his performances are heralded as “transcendently dramatic” (BBC Music Magazine). In 2014, Mr. Williams garnered international attention after performing the complete sonatas of Beethoven in two-weeks at the Edinburgh International Festival winning him the South Bank Show award, a feat he has since repeated over three seasons.

In the brief 31 years Schubert was alive, he left us with over a thousand works rooted in the classical tradition, yet innovative and foreshadowing the romantics to come. Llŷr Williams showcases the incomparable lyricism of Schubert in a program featuring works exclusively by the composer.
