Spencer Theatre is located in the James C. Olson Performing Arts Center on the University of Missouri-Kansas City campus at 4949 Cherry Street, four blocks east of the Country Club Plaza.

Our building, theatres, and classrooms are designed to be accessible. This includes accessible water fountains, restrooms, elevators, and automatic doors. At Spencer Theatre, ADA-compliant parking spots and an accessible entrance with automatic doors is located on the east side of the building, approachable via Rockhill Rd. Accessible parking at Copaken Stage is located on Level P2, next to the elevators.

Additionally, performances in our season are interpreted in American Sign Language on the 2nd Saturday of the run at 2pm for mainstage productions, and on December 3rd at 5pm for A Christmas Carol. ASL interpretation will be provided by Juliana Ladd, Jasmine Velasco, and Lisa Wirken. Please see information on specific shows for scheduled ASL interpreted performances (Look for “ASL Signed performance” on the show calendar). We strongly recommend that when purchasing tickets, you identify that you will be utilizing ASL interpretation in order to be seated accordingly.

Patrons may park for free in the faculty lot adjacent to the theatre, or in the parking garage at 50th & Cherry Streets. In the garage, please park on Levels 5 and 6. An elevated covered walkway to Spencer Theatre is located on level 5.

Our friendly Ticketing Services Team is typically available by phone at (816) 235-2700 Monday – Fridays 10AM-4PM, and up to curtain time for weekday performances. On weekend performance days, we are available 12pm to 8pm on Saturdays and 10am to curtain time on Sundays. We are closed on weekends when there are no performances.
