Kathryn Barker

I’m an artist and designer living and working in Kansas. My most recent work is primarily in oil, wax, and mixed media, incorporating these to create works that explore of nature and solitude.

My subjects are often landscapes, especially the rolling prairie and grasslands of the Kansas Flint Hills and I find the vastness of this singular landscape an ongoing inspiration. These paintings are a reflection of my deep appreciation for the natural world and my desire to share it with others. Through the use of encaustic techniques, I am able to create rich, textured works that evoke a sense of both tranquility and energy. I hope that my art inspires others to connect with nature and appreciate its many gifts.
