Now Showing is a program designed to foster partnerships between individual artists and businesses by providing opportunities for metro-area artists to display their work in the conference rooms, lobbies, and office spaces of local companies. For more info visit: https://artskc.org/nowshowing-2/

The Work: Art is about exploration. The work that I create is about constantly exploring new materials, new physical locations and new methods. It is also about exploring myself and how I interact and relate to those materials, locations and methods that I love discovering. I work in silk, metal and canvas and each piece offers a rich landscape of textures, colors and contrasts to consider. Whether it’s the technical restraint of working with titanium or the demand to push the boundaries on traditional canvas, I love a good problem to solve. Ultimately, that’s what I hope my art can accomplish–solving a problem one step at a time with an interesting and compelling solution.

The Artist: A chronic multi-tasker in love with making things, process, meeting people and fancying herself a budding scientist Larissa Uredi is excited to share her creative work with Kansas City. When she’s not outside playing in the sunshine you can find her at the climbing gym, on a bicycle or in her studio dyeing herself weird colors (usually by accident). She received her BFA in Fiber from The Kansas City Art Institute in 2005 and continues to show in galleries around the Kansas City metro, the Midwest, and internationally. You can learn more about her at http://www.unravelledonline.com/blog where she writes about her adventures, the struggle of finding your creative voice and her amazing circle of friends and colleagues.
