Residing in Leawood, KS, I currently have studio space in my home and enjoy spending lots of time creating art. I primarily use oil and cold wax which allows me to develop history in my paintings with layers, textures and lines. My goal to engage the viewer and bring a sense of place to my paintings is expressed by abstracting the landscape and nature. I strive to express the beauty, intrigue and depth in the world around us.
As a former manager of school programs and an educator at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art I have enjoyed opening up the world of art to students of all ages through creative programming. Before employment at the museum, I was an art educator in public and private schools as well as a graphic designer and illustrator for corporations in the Kansas City area.
Exhibitions include solo and group shows in the Kansas City and Dallas areas with works held in private collections in New York, Chicago, Portland, Dallas and Kansas City.
