Nate Hofer is a graphic designer and musician who draws upon his midwestern upbringing during the Cold War in the 1980s to create documentary photographs and solo performance sound pieces.

He was born in Africa to Mennonite conscientious objectors to the Vietnam War. He received BFAs in both painting and graphic design from The University of Kansas.

Nate has been part of the Kansas City music scene for 25 years. His ongoing photography series One And a Half Acres: Images of Missouri’s 150 Missile Silos has been shown in Kansas City art galleries since 2020.
