SCULPTURAL POTTERY AND ART EDUCATOR

My interest in art began when I was 5 years old and has continued throughout my life. I attended the University of Kansas and received a BFA in Design/ceramics with a minor in Art History, a BAE in Art Education, and a Masters in designing and implementing art curriculum. My art teaching career started in 1979. I have taught every grade level including K-12, preschool, adults and college. I love teaching as well as creating my own works of art in clay.Creating sculptures and sculptural pottery that are decorative and functional are my passion.  Most of my pieces have been glazed several times to achieve my vision for that piece. Each piece is unique and a one of a kind. I love the process of Raku.  I use it as often as I can to create beautiful and unusual surfaces on my work.  Glazed and carved organic shapes is also a feature of my work. I current show my work and teach art classes at the First Art Gallery of Olathe.
