Most of my painting is done outdoors while studying landscape. Landscape presents to me a sense of reality, meaning, and eternity which carries over to all of life and is a way for me of processing. The study of rejuvenation and decay in landscape finds its balance in humanity. Studying the figure and doing portraitures is also something I do a lot of.

Expressing myself through drawing has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. I received my training at the Kansas City Art Institute with a degree in painting. I studied under Stanley Lewis and Wilbur Niewald. I spent a lot of time teaching art at the junior high and senior high school level along with making my own art. I was focused on raising my own children as well during those years. Since then, my focus has been painting and showing my work.
