Suzanne Ryanstrati
Suzanne Ryanstrati is an international choreographer with research-based focus on human rights. Her work involves data-gathering from primary sources, often local people in the community, creative research through the investigation of movement, and the formation of an artwork in dance form.

If I tell people my story is a visual representation of the testimony of Sonia Golad, Holocaust survivor. This is not a dance about the Holocaust but rather uses Mrs. Golad\'s story as a framework to teach tolerance, the perspective she was passionate about. M. Suzanne Ryanstrati worked in partnership with Mrs. Golad\'s family throughout the artistic process. Joyce Hess, 2nd generation Holocaust speaker and Mrs. Golad\'s daughter, met with Alex Hess (grand daughter), the dancers and M. Suzanne Ryanstrati (choreographer) to share her mother\'s story, shared official documentation and exchanged movement ideas based on the story. This movement was included in the choreographic work. The partnership between Mrs. Hess and the choreographer continued throughout the creative process. This work premiered at the Jewish Community Center in Kansas City in 2019. The motivation for this dance was increased antisemitism including a shooting at the Jewish Community Center in Kansas City, as well as the Tree of Life Synagogue in PA and continued defacing of gravestones among other acts and attacks.
