    This year, No Divide KC , Habitat Contemporary Gallery, and InterUrban ArtHouse have partnered to present both the Queer Narratives Festival and the Queer Experience Exhibition throughout June, July and August! Visual Artists can submit their work to the Queer Experience to have their work considered for the June/July exhibition at the InterUrban ArtHouse. Performing Artists will submit their work to the Queer Narratives Festival to perform at the festival in August. All artists will have the opportunity to lead workshops, panels, open mics and other programming that will take place throughout the summer. The Queer Experience welcomes all visual artists in the LGBTQ+ community to tell their stories and share their experiences with the world. What has your experience been? What lenses do you see the world through? How do you interpret what you see, and in what ways do you express this through your art? Co-curated by Robb Gann of Habitat Contemporary Gallery. The Queer Narratives Festival presents the highest quality LGBTQ+ performing and visual artists in Kansas City. Known for its celebratory and inclusive energy, the Queer Narratives Festival features artists at all stages in their arts practice and represents all artistic mediums and queer identities.     The JCPRD Public Art Program is commissioning a series of posters of JCPRD parks, trails and facilities using the iconic and majestic style used by the Federal Art Project artists of the 1930s. In 2023, four artists from the Kansas City region will be selected and assigned to illustrate specific features or attributes from the following parks: Big Bull Creek, Cedar Niles, Lexington Lake, and Shawnee Mission. Project Budget: $2,500 stipend per artist (four artists will be selected) Artist Eligibility: This public art opportunity is open only to artists residing in the Kansas City region (Cass, Clay, Douglas, Jackson, Johnson, Leavenworth, Miami, Platte, or Wyandotte County). Submittal of Qualifications Interested artists should submit their qualifications here by Wednesday, April 5th at 11:59 PM. A CV/resume with current contact information and past/current experience (no more than 3 pages). Up to 10 images of previous artwork relevant to this project with a corresponding image list to include artwork title, medium and dimensions. Names and contact information for 3 professional references. A brief artist statement about why you are interested in this project (up to 200 words).     The City of Olathe is accepting artist applications to exhibit at the Olathe Arts Festival, October 6-7, 2023. The Olathe Arts Festival will provide individuals and families an enriching experience that inspires and celebrates the arts and creativity. In addition to being a juried art competition, the festival will bring patrons downtown to meet the artists and purchase their work, while enjoying local flavors, live music and entertainment, and fun art activities for all.
