27th Annual Ceremony of Lessons and Carols Christmas Concert

Presented by Rockhurst University at Arrupe Hall Auditorium, Rockhurst University, Kansas City MO

Dec 02 2017

Rockhurst student choruses will perform the 27th annual Christmas concert, Ceremony of Lessons and Carols, on Saturday Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Arrupe Hall.

This annual holiday concert traces its origins to King’s College Chapel at the University of Cambridge in Cambridge, England, where the first Ceremony of Nine Lessons and Carols was performed on Christmas Eve in 1918.

The performance will alternate between scriptural readings that present the Christmas story with musical selections that illuminate each reading. Audience members are invited to join the chorus and instrumentalists in the singing of traditional carols.

To register your attendance to this event, call 816-501-4828. The concert is free, but those attending are asked to bring a nonperishable food to be donated to area families in need. Parking is free in the garage on Troost Avenue and 52nd Street or in lots accessed through the campus entrance at Troost Avenue and 54th Street. See
