The Atha Lecture celebrates the lives and vision of Joseph S. and Ethel B. Atha who were deeply dedicated to the arts.

Gloria Groom, Chair of European Painting and Sculpture, and the David and Mary Winton Green Curator at the Art Institute of Chicago, explores why and how painters in the late 19th century, including Pierre-August Renoir, Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, and Edouard Manet, embraced fashion trends as they sought to capture modern life on canvas. Entrance to the Parking Garage is off Oak Street, just south of 45th Street. The garage is fully ADA accessible. Parking is $14 per car | Free for members A free lot at the corner of 45th Street and Rockhill Road is available first come, first served. Public parking may not be available there during special events.
