Blending baroque, Celtic and Eastern musical traditions, Gerald Trimble and Jambaroque perform on rare 17th and 18th century instruments, including the viola de gamba.
Many recall Gerald Trimble for his contributions to Kansas City's Celtic music scene, but today he intertwines the music of the British Isles with sounds from India, the Middle East and a touch of jazz--all played on an instrument that gained popularity in the 1600s. The viola de gamba dates to the 14th century, and most often appears in early music ensembles. Trimble, however, developed his own tuning and style for the instrument.
