Free Glassblowing Demonstration

Join us from 6-8pm at the Belger Glass Annex (1219 E. 19th Street) on Friday, July 7 as regional glass artist Katie Burkett leads the Belger Glass Annex crew to create an original piece of glass artwork. Burkett is a glass and mixed media sculptor from a small farming town in Northeast, Ohio. She is inspired by nature, anatomy, and the human psyche and uses glass to articulate the ideas that grow from these curiosities. Burkett is currently the Studio Technician and Instructor at the Tulsa Glassblowing School in Oklahoma.

Shop the new BGA Store located at the Belger Glass Annex and bid on last month’s First Friday sculpture. The BGA Store features handmade glass objects made by the BGA crew (card only, no cash.)

In addition to the glass demonstration, Belger Arts has great reasons to visit both of its other locations this First Friday. At Belger Crane Yard Gallery (2011 Tracy Ave.) it is opening night for Digital Debut: Muriel Hansen as well as the continuation of Milestones: Tenth Annual Resident Artist Exhibition and Sharif Bey: Ancestral Vestiges. Glass artist Annie Honn is July’s “Mug of the Month” artist and her beautiful glass steins are for sale online and in person.

At the Belger Arts Center (2100 Walnut St.,) we have the continuation of Terry Winters: Works from the Belger Collection.
