“Who Love Their Mothers” April 12 – 26 Kansas City Artists Coalition Lauren Whitacre’s Senior Thesis Exhibition
UNDERGROUND GALLERY - LAUREN WHITACRE's exhibition "Who Love Their Mothers" uses the photograph to preserve not the past or the future, but the moment in stasis or purgatory. Whitacre is interested in how photography alters memory in the attempt to preserve it. These images project her mother’s space against her own. The ghost is attached to the figure. Whitacre's recent exhibition looks at how her mother views the death of her daughter.
