Joe Kelly’s photographs from New York City in 1981 explore the juxtaposition of the dream-like space of Studio 54 against the realities of the streets of New York. Representing depictions of political rallies, rock n’ roll, and late-night clubs.
On September 12, 1981, Studio 54 re-opened with a guest list consisting of A-listers such as Andy Warhol, Calvin Klein and Brooke Shields. Joe Kelly grabbed his Leica and a flash, and took it upon himself to capture New Yorkers lost in solitary, or at times ecstatic moments at Studio 54. Joe will give a short artist talk regarding those days and what his work represents.

There is free 3-hour street parking on Baltimore Avenue north of the office, free 3-hour parking on Wyandotte St., and free 3-hour parking on Southwest Boulevard. There is also a paid parking garage just south of 17th Street on Main Street in the Barkley building.
