Born in the dance halls of Harlem in the 1920’s and 30’s as a joyful, physical expression of the newly evolving jazz and big band music that was exploding in popularity in Harlem NY and across the world, Lindy Hop is the most prevelant swing dance today!
In this 3 week course, you’ll learn all the basic moves all while making new friends. It’s specifically structured to build up your skills and confidence week by week while having plenty of fun along the way. By the end of the course, you’ll have enough moves to go out social dancing in Kansas City’s vibrant swing dance scene.
You don’t need a partner and you don’t need any experience as we’ll be teaching from the absolute basics. We recommend you wear flat shoes and layers, as the class can get hot as we start to dance.
We do not stick to the tradition of men leading and women following, we ask you choose whichever role you prefer and is most comfortable for you.
—– REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY —– Class fees are non-refundable, except for accidental double charges. Class fees are transferable to another class series if you provide 48 hours notice of your cancellation. You may apply your credit towards another class series within the next 6 months.
