Behind the SEEN: The power of X-Radiography presented by The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City MO

Museum staff share stories related to objects in the musuem’s permanent collection.

What lies beneath the surface of works of art in the Nelson-Atkins collection, and why is it helpful to see what otherwise can’t be seen?  Objects conservator, Joe Rogers and paintings conservator Mary Schafer discuss the power of X-radiography—more commonly known as X-rays—to reveal what’s hidden and assist in the conservation and preservation of art.
