POSTPONED - DRAPING METHOD

Are you a designer who is interested in creating your own patterns? Do you want to learn the basics of draping and developing a sloper?

Join us on an introductory draping course over two weekends that will provide students with skills to develop slopers (master patterns for your brand). Students will learn how to bring their sketches to life by draping on factory standard professional dress forms. Basic sewing skills and construction knowledge required.

Only 10 places!

Students will work on Janome HD-3000 and School Mate 7330 straight-stitch home sewing machines and Janome and Babylock home sergers. To drape students will use factory standard professional dress forms.

Students will:
Learn the basics of draping,
Receive tips on sizing and fit,
Learn how to transfer the draped muslin onto paper,
Learn how to drape various design ideas from a sketch, and
Develop a basic bodice and skirt sloper.

Basic sewing supplies will be provided. A shopping list will be provided.

This class will be taught by Rightfully Sewn Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Pamela Lucas. She is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and has over 20 years of teaching experience.
