In this exhibition we will be celebrating all things fiber! From embroidery honoring Wheel of Fortune to plush hotdogs, we will display a vast array of different fiber mediums and styles. This exhibition will showcase the intensive work and dedication artists have put into the things that they love, which they’ve immortalized in fabric.
In addition to many individual works, we are proud to present a large studio collaborative quilt, which was made entirely from donated and found fabrics. This quilt was constructed through the efforts of nearly all of the artists that attend Imagine That! Some artists helped in choosing combinations of fabrics and colors, others helped cut out pieces and some helped sew. Regardless of the amount of time a hand was involved with this project, it could not have been done without each and every one.
This quilt was made in partnership with Mid America Arts Alliance for their exhibition “Material Pulses” and inspired by the work of artist Jayne Willoughby.
Special thanks to Stephanie Seber with MAAA for partnering with us and David Quisenberry for donating much of the fabric used in this show.
