Swing one out to the heavens as we close our season by adding a gospel flavor for some of the most soulful tunes of all time! The spirits of Mahalia Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, and more will be filling Helzberg as KCJO adds a choir to bolster our ranks for the first time ever! You won’t want to miss this historic evening of tunes that will liven up the whole congregation.

Every KCJO series performance is preceded by an informal 30-minute talk on the evening’s program delivered by Artistic Director, Clint Ashlock. These engaging “chats” offer listeners the opportunity to gain a little insight into the composers, musical elements, and historical context of the evening’s featured repertoire. Jazz Chats begin one hour before the concert and are FREE to attend. Bring your questions!

PARKING INFO

An experience at the Kauffman Center begins the moment you arrive, with a convenient, well-lit parking garage, owned and operated by the City of Kansas City, Missouri. The garage is directly attached to the Kauffman Center just south of the building with multiple access points to surrounding streets.

Garage parking passes and valet parking passes are available in advance for most events. Please note that if the garage is full patrons without a pre-paid pass will not be able to park in the Arts District Garage.
