VIRTUAL- Hoffman Visiting Artist Lecture Presents Emma Nuzzo

Emma Nuzzo, arts entrepreneur and cultural producer, will present on leveraging her experience working for arts organization For Freedoms to start her own business, Cereus Art — an online platform reimagining the art marketplace to empower emerging artists and prioritize equity.
Emma Nuzzo is a curator, organizer and educator working at the intersection of art and social impact. Central to her creative practice is the belief that art encourages the understanding of nuance and multiplicity in narratives, and that in the face of inequity, each one of us is responsible for imagining and helping to create the systems we want to see in the world. Nuzzo is the founder of Cereus Art, an online platform that is reimagining the art marketplace to empower independent artists and provide critical business education necessary to achieve longevity in their careers. Along with her own business, Nuzzo has worked with the organization For Freedoms for almost 4 years, collaborating directly with institutional partners across the country to produce exhibitions and programming that engender productive political dialogue and spark civic joy. Nuzzo led the effort to build the organization’s partnership network, as well as the production of the decentralized 50 State Initiative campaign leading into the 2018 midterm elections. She graduated from Williams College with a degree in Art History and Africana Studies.
