Journey: 400 Years 1619-2019?
SONIÉ JOI THOMPSON-RUFFIN
Sonié Joi Thompson-Ruffin has dedicated her life’s work as an artist
sharing the experiences of the African American community, this
exhibition is no different. As we embark upon 400 Years, a testimony to
slavery, unwritten checks, non-promissory notes to a people in a country
that has difficulty accepting the reality of its history, we explore the
complexities of slavery, freedom, and the Revival of Healing that rests at
the core of this nation’s validity within the American narrative.
