"KCMO, I Adore Your Every Move" by Nikita Gale

The work of Los Angeles artist Nikita Gale is often characterized by her long-term obsessions with specific objects or classes of objects and the ways they reference particular social and political histories. Using ubiquitous consumer technologies as frameworks to consider how individuals reproduce their relationships to objects within both psychic space and political, social and economic systems, Gale’s Open Spaces project entails transposing a stray phrase written by Charlie Parker for his wife, onto a neon sign on the side of the historic Boone Theatre.
