Music from the Age of Enlightenment: Music in Colonial America

Presented by Kansas City Baroque Consortium at Visitation Catholic Church, Kansas City MO

Music from the Age of Enlightenment: Music in Colonial America

Music in Colonial America is the third and final concert of the 2022 Summer Series, The Age of Enlightenment

The third and final concert on August 26th, we head across the Atlantic Ocean to Colonial America. Still very young, and under heavy European influence, American born composers are searching for a new musical identity of our own. (We also peek at what the French think of this bold new experiment called America!) Heavy in the choral school of singing, we also premiere a commissioned work by American composer, Michael Welsh, written especially for the Kansas City Baroque!
