Musica Sacra chorus and orchestra will perform Handel’s “Funeral Anthem for Queen Caroline” at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, in Arrupe Hall auditorium.
Musica Sacra concludes its 31st season with one of the great expressive masterpieces of the English baroque. Handel’s music portrays personal grief for Queen Caroline, the Consort of King George II and Handel’s musical student. Timothy McDonald, Ph.D., Rockhurst University professor of music and director of the Musica Sacra ensemble will present live program notes at 6:45 p.m. before the performance.
