New Arrivals includes recent additions to the Belger Collection by local, national, and international artists and builds on the Collection’s educational focus and support of contemporary artists. Most of the sculptural and functional works were created in the last three years by emerging and established artists, with ceramics as the predominant medium. A rich diversity of perspectives is presented in New Arrivals. Works in the exhibition reference personal and cultural examinations, explorations of architectural form and environment, the investigation of human interaction with mundane objects and domestic spaces, and the questioning of systemic order and ritual. The intentionality of each artist is evident in the selection of materials, technical approaches, scale, and textures. The exhibition includes works by John Balistreri, Sharif Bey, Elaine Buss, Amanda Bury, Paul S. Briggs, Selena Buckner, Jonathan Christensen Caballero, Pierce Haley, Joseph Hutchins, Paul Maloney, Chandler Martin, Jada Patterson, Lilly Powell, Joann Quiñones, Kate Schroeder, Rae Stern, and ChengOu Yu.
