Nouveau Noir

James D aka James D Conqueror aka James McGee presents Nouveau Noir, a performance art event that seeks to explore the historical past and illuminate its influence on contemporary black American music, dance, art and culture. With James as vocalist, supported by a five-piece band and multiple poets and dancers, the performance will take the form of a musical revue whose trajectory embraces jazz, blues, soul, hip-hop, rock ‘n’ roll, and spoken word performance, while also incorporating projected films drawn from African-American history.
