October Movie Night Series: "Portrait of a Black Man" and "Aggie"

Join Kemper Museum for an October Movie Night Series! This event will take place outside in the Kemper Museum parking lot with spaces for each group to enjoy the film while social distancing. Please bring blankets, mats, or cushions. Food trucks will be on site for movie-goers to grab food before the show. It’s predicted to be a little cool this October, bring your warm clothes.

To say that making this film was cathartic would be an understatement. It’s a direct reflection of the wide emotional swings I’ve experienced throughout my life and even more so since the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others. As black men, trauma is inherent; but despite the burden we carry and the obstacles we face, finding joy and a spirit of perseverance is the truest act of resistance.
