Free concert to open the 2019-2020 Season of the Overland Park Orchestra. Sunday, October 6, 3:30 p.m., Knox Presbyterian Church, 9595 W. 95th St. OP, KS. The community orchestra will present music of Beethoven, von Suppe, Bizet and Sibelius.

Sponsored by the City of Overland Park since 1973, the Overland Park Orchestra is made up of volunteer musicians of all ages and backgrounds. They meet weekly during the school year to rehearse and prepare great orchestral music to present to the public in four or more free concerts a year. In addition, they provide the orchestral accompaniment to Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Ballet presented by the American Youth Ballet in December.
