Shemekia Copeland at Knuckleheads

Shemekia Copeland made a name for herself opening for her father — Texas blues guitarist Johnny Copeland — when she was a teenager, and began to carve out her own identity as an artist and a standout vocalist. Her eighth and latest album, "America's Child," is Copeland's most compelling work yet, reaching from blues into spirited Americana, with elements of rock, soul and country. It features guest appearances from Emmylou Harris, John Prine and Rhiannon Giddens and many more.
