Shifting Tides

Kansas City Contemporary Dance Company is proud to present a premiere contemporary dance concert, “Shifting Tides” on November 10-11, 2017 at the H&R Block City Stage in Kansas City’s beautiful Union Station. Featuring entirely new work from the 2017 season, Artistic Director Leigh Murray and Rehearsal Director Katie Metzger have curated a thrilling narrative that will take audiences on an exciting journey through dance.

KC Contemporary Dance is finishing out their thirteenth season with “Shifting Tides”, and it is the fourteenth repertory concert presented by the company through the years. This performance is a unique combination of athletic technique and artistry, and exhibits the high quality work for which KC Contemporary Dance is known. Audiences from the Kansas City metro and all over the Midwest will flock to this wonderful, family-friendly show.

“Shifting Tides” will bring the audience into a story of allegiance, betrayal, failure and perseverance. The dancers display great emotion through movement, and the choreography promises to keep audiences on the edge of their seat. Featuring dancers from across the nation, KC Contemporary Dance boasts a wide range of styles and backgrounds, adding variety to the contemporary style of the performance.
