Te Deum – Monteverdi’s Venetian Vespers of 1641 | Sunday, June 4th at 3:00 PM | Village Presbyterian Church | Te Deum will bring to life for the first time in Kansas City this music of deep faith, infectious charm, and musical virtuosity.
During Monteverdi’s 30 years as Maestro di Cappella of St. Mark’s Basillica in Venice, he published only one book of sacred choral music. This single publication, Selva Morale e Spirituali, contains a handful of pieces that Monteverdi choose to represent the very best representation of his illustrious career. In collaboration with the Kansas City Baroque consortium, we will bring to life for the first time in Kansas City this music of deep faith, infectious charm, and musical virtuosity.
