The Coldest Hour

United Colors (formerly Curiouser KC) is excited to invite you to the gallery for the first exhibition under the new identity.

The Coldest Hour will be on view from Sept 15th – Oct 31st.On view will be works from the artists current studio practice. October is a self described “dark surrealist” oil painter based in Chicago, Illinois. Their work tends to be high contrast and saturated, using artificially sweet pinks and dark blues. They have always had an interest in art history and the Baroque, and blends their knowledge of historical techniques with fantastical themes, some religious imagery, and feminine aesthetics.

October Garner has an African American and Persian cultural background, and they often turn to the visual language of their respective culture’s past for inspiration.
