The Giant Ice Age Mammals the Roamed Throughout the Greater Kansas City Area and Beyond, April 4 – June 24, 2022, Open: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. The Box Gallery, 1000 Walnut, inside the Commerce Bank Building. Free and open to the pubic.
During the Ice Age, giant mammals dominated the landscape of what is now Kansas City. Most became extinct about 10,000 years ago, and only some are represented today by descendants of diminutive size. This exhibit compares skeletal remains of the Ice Age giants with their modern day relatives. Pop-in over the lunch-hour to view the exhibit and meet the exhibit organizer, Dr. Richard J. Gentile, Professor Emeritus, Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Missouri - Kansas City. Ask questions about local fossils and Ice Age giants!
The event is free and open to the public. Family friendly. Free parking validation is available for the Commerce Bank Building Garage at 1025 Main, at the Security desk.

Free parking validation is available for all visitors to The Box Gallery. Please park in the Commerce Bank Building Parking Garage at 1025 Main Street. Once parked, enter the main building on the 2nd floor. Bring your parking ticket in and request a validation sticker at the Security office window located at the west end of the Arcade.
