ARTIST STATEMENT – BRENDA GRIEGO LINO
When I was young(er), I thought I could speak to the world with my art! School gave me basics for post hippie, 70’s and 80’s simplicity.
Then life happened. My art did not survive the 90’s!
Ringing in the new millennium brought about a craving to get back to what spoke to me!
A little conversation is held with every piece I paint, sometimes a silently loud summit is held. Sometimes I paint in third party.
The time has shown my style has had little change: loose expression similar to post impressionism. I paint what I see as everyday scenes, smoothly shaped; adding light to color.

ARTIST STATEMENT – DEBRA BRECHBIEL
My art is created with acrylic paint, chalk pastels, or charcoal. I often combine these to make mixed media pieces and add dry medium grounds or texture gels to create details and a unique look. I combine drawing and painting to get the best of both worlds in one work of art. It’s different and something most people don’t usually mix. I like bold colors in my paintings, but if I”m making a drawing without adding paint, I prefer black and white.

I like strong contrast and lines in my work and tend to prefer stylized or more abstract compositions over realistic. I like to use principles of surrealism in my work as well as making works that are straightforward in meaning.

The subjects of my paintings and drawings are often animals, nature, and landscapes. I intend to portray the beauty and raw detail of nature in my subjects. Others have described my art as beautiful and occasionally eerie.
