VIRTUAL- Spark the Arts In Young Hearts Luncheon

Join Honorary Chair Michael Fields at the 2020 Spark the Arts in Young Hearts Luncheon celebrating the important role the arts play in the lives of young people. This luncheon provides crucial funding support for KCYA arts education programs all across the city. Because of our generous sponsors, it is FREE to attend this year’s luncheon! We are sad that we won’t be able to enjoy a meal together this year, but please pack your lunch on October 14 and join us for an uplifting 25-minute presentation, streaming live, in celebration of KCYA’s mission, students, and teaching artists.  Attendees will experience inspiring and entertaining performances provided by students and teaching artists, and will join in celebrating those in the community who embody the KCYA mission to engage all youth in the arts, promote creativity, and inspire success in education. This year we are very pleased to honor Joan Horan with the Trudy Award for her outstanding support and volunteer efforts on behalf of arts education.  KCYA will also present the Lighton Prize for Teaching Artist Excellence to visual artist Paige Ahlenius and will honor Jodie Lin of Kansas City, KS Public Schools with the Distinguished Educator Award.
