Free opening August 9, 7pm at the Jewish Community Center: The Wall of Respect is an interactive installation celebrating five vibrant cultures in the metro area: Asian American, African American, Native American, Jewish, and Latino/Hispanic.
2017 marked the 50th anniversary of the Wall of Respect, created by a group of Chicago artists from the Organization of Black American Culture.This Wall revitalized the neighborhood and gave birth to a national community mural movement.

Following the opening on August 9, the Wall will be available for viewing August 10-13 at the Jewish Community Center. An educator will present at the times indicated on the calendar.
Organizations, houses of worship, corporations, and schools may host the Wall at their sites. There is no charge, only the requirement that the host offer at least one educational program in conjunction with the yurt. Master educators have created scripts appropriate for elementary, teen and adult audiences. Call 913.327.8077 for more information.
