"Waterfall as Cinema" by Denis Rodriguez and Leonaro Remor

Presented by Open Spaces at Belger Arts Center, Kansas City MO

Aug 25 2018
-
Oct 28 2018

Their Kansas City installation consists of a single-channel video projection of a waterfall pouring down a set of public stairs, suggesting an illusion of both disaster and redemption.

Based in Porto Alegre, this Brazilian duo has been collaborating since 2009, most visibly as co-founders of the experimental Galeria Peninsula, which emphasizes digital art. Their work investigates the space of nature within the logic of urban development, and in that spirit, their Kansas City installation consists of a single-channel video projection of a waterfall pouring down a set of public stairs, suggesting an illusion of both disaster and redemption.
