Westwood Ensemble Celebrates American Music

Black and Jewish Americans have shaped American music of all genres.  This program celebrates their tremendous influence, with two twentieth-century compositions, one by Florence Price (1887-1953), an African American woman, and the other by Jerome Moross (1918-1983), a Brooklyn Jew who found fame scoring Westerns in Hollywood.  Westwood Ensemble will also be performing modern American classics by three Jewish American composers: George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein, and Aaron Copland.
