William Baker Festival Singers 25th Anniversary Gala Celebration

The award-winning William Baker Festival Singers culminate their 25th anniversary concert season with a gala concert and reception in their home venue, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in downtown Kansas City, MO.  Allegro Con Moto and Allegro Con Vivo from the Allegro Choirs of Kansas City will join in the concert to honor the Silver Anniversary of the Festival Singers.  The program will include favorites from the 2022-2023 season, including works by Hovland, Gretchaninov, Esenvalds, and Composer in Residence Sean Sweeden, in addition to the 50-voice semi-professional chorale’s signature spirituals and gospels.

The William Baker Festival Singers have performed in 14 states including tours this season to Arkansas and Wisconsin.  Significant venues have included the Washington National Cathedral, Trinity Wall Street in NYC, the Basilica of St. Josephat in Milwaukee, and St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans.  In 2021 the Festival Singers was named 2nd place national winner of the American Prize in Choral Performance.  Recordings have been lauded in The American Record Guide.  The Festival Singers have been featured on NPR’s Performance Today.
