For the Win Poetry Slam

KC-based poetry team For The Win has represented the city in Regional and National competitions for four years in a row and is also the first team to represent Kansas City competitively in at the National Poetry Slam. This year they are bringing together previous years’ slam teams and surprise guests in a blow-out reunion show to support Kansas City’s own For the Win Slam Team. The event’s format will follow a scripted Broadway-style showcase format, outlining Kansas City’s spoken word trajectory over the past five years, and featuring different types of poetry ranging from love to activism.
