Heartland Chamber Music’s focus is twofold: CHAMBER MUSIC and OUTREACH

HCM has served more than 7,000 students ages 3-76 and presented more than 200 concerts throughout the past 21 years through year-round and summer programming.

Summer is made for chamber music!  During July and August each year, our distinguished faculty from universities, conservatories, and professional symphonies impart their knowledge and passion for chamber music during our student-focused festivals as well as our Adult Workshop for amateurs.

“It is heartening to hear these young musical scholars of the Camerata and Festival Quartet perform with such authority. The whisperings of the demise of classical music are negated when future performers such as these are in our midst.” -KC Arts Beat, Paul Pattison August, 2019

HCM’s newest program, String Sprouts is an El Sistema based program whose mission is to effect social change through music for children with the fewest resources and the greatest need.

Our programing philosophy mirrors that of chamber music:

  • quality over quantity

  • small student-artist ratio

  • engage performing artists who have a heart for teaching

This ideal gives everyone a chance to connect with artists without limitation of age, skill level or socioeconomic background.

During the past 21 years, we have served over 7000 students and presented over 300 concerts.
