KC Youth Percussion Ensemble, Inc

Now in our 11th season, the KC Youth Percussion Ensemble bring together students from all areas of the KC Metro Area to learn and perform music of all styles and all generations.  All groups perform at the highest level, pushing the boundries of youth.

Due to Covid-19 our first concert of this season was presented virtually (www.kcype.org/kcype-concert) , BUT all rehearsals are live and in person.  We maintain strict safety protocols setup by our staff nurse, and keep groups small and well spaced out.

Our students are led by internationally acclaimed percussionist Kevin Clarke, and are exposed to special guest artists from all over the world and KC Metro Area.  Guest artists include Local University Professors Von Hansen, Fountain City Brass Band Director Helen Harrelson, KC Symphony Asst. Principal Percussionist David Yoon.  

KCYPE has performed across the midwest for Kansas and Oklahoma Days of Percussion, National Conference on Percussion Pedagogy, and has been awarded special performance spots at the Kauffman Center’s Future Stages Festival 4 years running.
