The Shawnee Indian Mission Foundation is a local advocacy group, partnering with the City of Fairway (Mission daily operations) and the Kansas State Historical Society (property owner) for the funding, preservation, and operations of the Shawnee Indian Mission State Historic Site in Fairway, Kansas. The Shawnee Indian Mission provides unique educational and historical experiences for all its visitors.

The Mission is one of the most historic sites in the are with history related to Native Americans, Westward Expansion and the Trails West, Manifest Destiny and the Civil War. In addition it is an asset to the surrounding community, with 12 acres of property and 3 of the oldest buildings in the State. The Foundation’s Board of Directors are volunteers who work with the City to provide events, programs, operational funding and funding for capital improvements. There are many volunteer opportunities, large and small.  Volunteers are an essential part of the Mission.  Monetary contributions are always needed and welcome.  Contact Mission Site Director, Jennifer Laughlin (913-262-0867) to volunteer or to make a financial contribution.
