Researcher Kim Smolderen, Ph.D., received funding of nearly $300,000 in 2019 through the Eugene Washington PCORI Engagement Awards program, an initiative of the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) based in Washington, D.C. The funds support a two-year program to promote understanding about PAD and disseminate information collected about PAD back to the Kansas City community, thereby empowering individuals to take charge of their cardiovascular health.
