Every piece I have ever made has lived a thousand lives because it is all about perspective held in the eye of the beholder. With a diverse skill set across all mediums, I work to create pieces as unique as the individuals who commission them.  My interest in historical costuming has often lead me to learn new skills and become a stronger artist through problem solving. While I do take many sewing commissions, lately I have been expressing myself through pigments and painting. Nature has always been my biggest inspiration and muse. When I am not in the studio, I’m usually off on all sorts of adventures all over the world.

There has never been a time in my life that I have not been a maker of things. I won several local art competitions in Elementary and Middle School, and by the time I reached High School I was starting to explore the idea of it becoming my profession.

Under the mentorship of Greg Brantman, Lynda Shapiro, and Sally Jones I achieved National recognition and sold to the Corcoran Gallery in Washington D.C.. Dabbling in metalworking, ceramics, fiber arts, and painting, I also worked in the theater department costuming earning the Shooting Star Award and scholarship for costume design. From this strong starting point I launched myself into studying art at Sierra Nevada College where I continued to diversify and learned printmaking, life drawing and opera. My years there led into collaborations with surfboard art, advertising illustration, and wedding dress design.

I have never stopped learning or creating and I don’t intend to. Life has not always allowed for art to be my main focus, but it has never gone away. The drive to make… to create… it is in my soul.
