The “subject matter” of the work has been nebulous, abstractions based on accident and awe. Ideas come from scratching at the surface of science and spirituality. Science offers inspiration with images of cellular, biological and astronomical research. Ideas come from various spiritual pursuits spanning time and custom. The underlying theme is about the connections. From the subatomic, botanic and stellar – from the shapes, motions, disintegrations and regenerations, and the light which illuminates those connections.¬†

Recent works are digital paintings done with various programs and platforms. The motif is a play on still life painting which I’ve been calling “entangled life” paintings. Credit book by Merlin Sheldrake. The works are printed using archival inks on metallic paper then mounted in hand-built metal frames. Another round of applications include¬†powders, glitters, paint, seeds, blossoms embedded in epoxy resin.

Three separate series within the entangled life works include “mind the gap,” “open hearted,” and “see in the seeds or seeds in the stars”
