Dylan Findley (b. 1991) writes music as a sacred act of expressing truths through emotion, intellect, and embodied physicality. As such, he enjoys the interplay between symbolism, perception of musical space and time, and the exploration of interesting sounds. For this reason, Dylan’s work spans from loosely structured improvisations to complex and meticulous allegorical works.

He is an active and enthusiastic participant in international circles for new music. The City of Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture IN FLUX project, the Barlow Endowment, the São Paulo Contemporary Composers Festival Orchestra Commissioning Project, the Center for Latter-day Saints Arts, and other organizations have commissioned him for new works. Many of the top new music ensembles today such as newEar, Transient Canvas, Quarteto L'Arianna, Ensemble Mise-En, Great Noise Ensemble, members of the Cleveland Orchestra, Frost Symphony Orchestra, and Brigham Young University's Wind Symphony among others have performed his music in numerous concerts across the United States and on three continents. He also performs his own improvisational electronic music on the clarinet and loves teaching music to fantastic students as an adjunct music professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, his doctoral alma mater.

When not musicking, Dylan enjoys meaningful time with family and friends, experiments with video making, seeks out international cuisine, and seeks to make the world a kinder place.
